Scientific Writing

This online problem-based learning course will allow participants to improve their scientific writing skills in English.

Content and Methodology

The online seminar "Scientific Writing" aims at targeting students of natural sciences and health sciences who wish to improve their academic writing skills in English. The objective of the seminar is to provide a brief theoretical introduction on each topic of the course. Exercises with clearly defined tasks give students the opportunity to test what they have learned and applied directly during the flow of the seminar. Thus, for example the student has the opportunity to draft one's own scientific publication step-by-step. Immediate feedback from the tutor can help the students with their queries if they are stuck.

By the end of the course students gain skills in in literature search, drafting various parts of scientific publication & publishing and presenting the results of the scientific publication in English.

Requirements

• Selection strategy: Participants should have already selected a topic for their master thesis.
• Number of participants: unlimited.
• Certificate/ECTS: 3 ECTS.
• Language: English.
